The bodies of two women have been found in an apartment in the capital of Tatarstan. On the wall, the criminal wrote the slogan: “Free Pussy Riot”.

The Investigative Committee of Tatarstan is investigating the shocking crime that took place in one of the apartments in the centre of Kazan. An elderly mother and her 38-year-old daughter died from multiple stab wounds and their bodies were found in their own home behind closed doors.
In the place where the 76-year-old Farida and 38-year-old Lily died, the killer left a message. On the wall in the hallway, the criminal wrote a slogan in support of the singers of the band Pussy Riot, who have been sentenced to two years [in a penal colony].
‘The bodies were mutilated almost beyond recognition, the killer acted with cruelty’, reported Tatarstan law enforcement agencies, ‘Experts have counted dozens of stab wounds.’
The killer of the two women in Kazan left a message on the wall demanding the liberation of the members of Pussy Riot.
76-year-old Farida was a pensioner and did not work. Lily worked as a salesperson at a shop not far from the house where she lived with her mother. It is believed that the mother and daughter were killed in the period between the 24th and the 26th of August.
According to neighbors, Farida was very careful in dealing with strangers and never opened the door to anyone she did not know in person.
In addition, for some time, the daughter Lily was worried about leaving her mother alone, as the retiree was grieving the loss of her husband and son. Several years ago, Lily’s brother died in a car crash, and their father died of cancer.
‘All members of the police force and the Investigative Committee are now being thrown into the search for the criminals’, the spokesperson for the Russian Investigative Committee for the Republic of Tatarstan said. ‘A case has been opened under the article ‘Murder of two or more people.’
The trial of the members of the notorious rock band ended on August 17th. According to the decision in the Khamovniki Court in Moscow, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, Maria Alyokhina and Ekaterina Samutsevich were sentenced to 2 years in a penal colony.
A few months before, the girls were arrested for a shocking flashmob at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. During a service, they broke through to the altar and sang a “punk prayer” that witnesses recorded on camera phones.
After the announcement of the verdict, there has been a wave of activity in support of the rock singers. Those who disagree with the decision of the court have been demanding freedom for the members of Pussy Riot.
