Volgograd To Be Renamed Stalingrad … Sometimes

From Echo Moskvy:

Volgograd to be renamed Stalingrad a few times a year

Local politicians have decided that on days of remembrance, it will be possible to rename the town. The second of February will be the anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad. As one of the law’s authors explained to “Echo Moskvy”, United Russia MP Sergey Zebednov, it is not about totally renaming the town. It’s a return to the town’s historic name six times a year.

The MP added that in St. Petersburg, when the date of the lifting of the blockade is celebrated, they use the name “Leningrad”, and it doesn’t bother anyone.

Comments from Echo Moskvy:

“Volgograd to be renamed Stalingrad a few times a year”

Meanwhile, MPs are idiots the whole year round.

vodim:

The first step is the hardest … afterward, a few times a year, Russia will become the USSR, United Russia the Communist Party, so that people get used to it slowly… and then it’ll be permanent. It is written that in stagnant times, “there’s nothing more permanent than the temporary!”
Amen!
This has been your sermon for the Thursday 31 January.

If there’d been a Nuremberg trial for Stalin and his cronies, then there wouldn’t be anything named after him. Same goes for Kadyrov street.

No more than the Russians killed by Kim Jong Il, Chavez, and the Moors, all so loved by our liberalists.

Are you gonna fight? Have you ever held a machine gun? Or did you dodge the draft?

And a few days a year will be considered 1937, so Putin can have a legal basis for executing some of his inner circle.
