Russian TV Heads Respond to Allegations of Bias

From Echo Moskvy:

RUSSIAN FEDERAL TELEVISION CHANNELS ANSWER COMPLAINTS OF LACK OF OBJECTIVITY. DIRECTORS OF CHANNEL ONE, VGTRK, AND NTV PUBLISH ANSWER TO OPEN LETTER BY HEADS OF UKRAINIAN MEDIA GROUPS

Answering the call to “objectivity and responsibility”, Konstantin Ernst, Oleg Dobrodeev, and Vladimir Kulistikov offered to hold these principles to their Ukrainian colleagues too. “Let’s weigh our words and hold back emotions, let’s do it not separately, as has become the custom in recent times, but together”, the letter says. In its authors’ opinion, it should give an “objective picture of reality.”

The directors of the Russian television channels have accused Ukraine of discriminating against the Russian language and creating barriers to work for Russian journalists. In their words, Russian journalists have started to encounter threats in regions that the new Ukrainian government’s control. In Russia no one, the letter’s authors establish, hinders Ukrainian journalists from fulfilling their work.

The word “war”, in Ernst, Dobrodeev, and Kulistikov’s opinion, became relevant in the “united and indivisible great Slavic television space” at that moment when “the new people” in the Ukraine began discriminating against Russian. The letter’s authors supposed that if their Ukrainian colleagues had come out with a similar statement at the time, the following events “would have managed to be avoided”. Russian authorities, the letter’s authors stated, have taken “the requisite measures” in order to avoid discrimination “big and small”.

Head of Inter Media Group Anna Bezlyudna, head of Starlight Media Volodymyr Borodyansky, head of Media Group Ukraine Fyodor Ogarkov, and head of 1+1 Media Olexandr Tkachenko sent a letter to the heads of three Russian television channels on March 3. In it the heads of the Ukrainian mega groups called upon their Russian colleagues to “openly, weightily, and objectively” highlight the events in the Ukraine, responsibly considering “every word”.

Three corrupt PSEUDOJOURNALISTS without MIND, HONOUR, OR CONSCIENCE. Shame on Russian television –THE FALSE “WINDOW TO THE WORLD”!

It’s some genocide of the people of Russia that our television is doing. They lie like they breathe. And they themselves believe in their own lies.
It’s not television, but a kingdom of distorting mirrors.

They’re the kremlin’s mouthpiece and can’t have their own opinion.
It’s offensive that the people in a basic mass have only this false opinion.
In Ukraine this opinion is leading to the country’s schism and the people’s uprising.

The funniest thing is that Putin himself believes the nonsense that’s being produced by his order )))

They found a few burnt corpses in the Trade Union House in Kiev burned down by Berkut! The injured turned out to be blocked during the fire and were burned ALIVE! This is for a question about Berkut! There’s such hatred towards these non-humans and executioners that many were ready to tear them apart with their bare hands

I’ve actually been watching Ukrainian channels for the past few days. The honesty is impressive. The Ukrainian people, as it turned out, are very spiritual, and also strong in spirit. And very religious. It was impressive, to be honest

Thanks, I’m actually watching Uurkinian channels. For the past 3 days on a huge TV – NOT A SINGLE PERSON REPRESENTING THE EAST OR SOUTH.

And always such a stream of lies, twisting, and lying, which I’m just going nuts. In the background of these madly lying comrades Kiselev is a most honest and objective jurnalist

The influx of false, one-sided, journalistic information enflaming chauvinistic moods isn’t promoting a settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. The demonstration by one moron with a machine gun in the Ukraine during the week says more about the absence of proof of mass nationalism. Just like the perennial depiction on all of Zhirinovsky’s shows, on the basis of which the Russian people can be considered a mob of exalted psychopaths.

alcher75: (responding to above)

But it works on morons; they believe that khokhols [Note: derogatory but widely used term for Ukrainians] fry Russians alive as a hot snack to have with gorilka [Note: Ukrainian vodka].

“Freedom of speech” and objectivity in Ukrainian.

A part of the media is CLOSED by the new government, “for biased, pro-Russian coverage of the events in Ukraine”.

A crowd armed with clubs heaped up to the channel Inter and expressed their disgust at the “biased coverage of events”. Employees hurried to assure that from here on they’ll be even more objective and honest.

Representatives of a few parties in Kiev were added to the lustration list.
HEY! Where’s “free speech”?????????????

sergeniys_26_12_:

Ernst, Dobrodeev, and Kulistikov offered to hold these principles to their Ukrainian colleagues too! Putin! why did you start up a war? – and then in the Netherlands you have a party of pedophiles!

krestianin_067rus:

With this answer, Konstantin Ernst, Oleg Dobrodeev, and Vladimir Kulistikov have demonstrated knowledge of the fact that the media should be guided by the principles of objectivity and responsibility. :)) – but they’re not obliged to follow those principles… :((

bootanik:

These “three woodpeckers” from Russia’s “official media” have nothing to do with journalism. I’m not saying that “Ukrainian journalism” is free of problems, that in Ukraine everything’s just fine… Simply in Ukraine there’s a lot more freedom, on the TV you can hear many different opinions, some kind of journalism exists in Ukraine unlike the “official Russian

propagandization”..

kilgortrout:

Ernst, Dobrodeev, and Kulistikov. Full Kremlin sycophants flooding all of Russia with lies.
