Trololo Square Suggested In St. Petersburg

On the 4th of June this year, unfortunately, Eduard Khil, a famous Russian singer, passed away at the age of 77. While many did not even know his name, one of his songs in particular took the internet by storm. His song Я очень рад ведь я наконец возвращаюсь домой, or “I am very glad that I am finally returning home” has over 30 million views on YouTube (on a number of different uploads), and in St. Petersburg, plans are underway to rename a square after Trololo man.

In St. Petersburg they may name a square after Eduard Khil

Inhabitants of the block in which he lived for over thirty years want to perpetuate the memory of the famous singer, according to ITAR-TASS. Eduard Khil died on the 4th June at the age of 77. The decision that was taken today by the Toponymic Commission of St. Petersburg has still to be confirmed by the governor Georgiy Poltavchenko.
