Just Over 25% Voter Turnout in Moscow Elections

From Echo Moskvy:

Turn out for Moscow mayoral elections 26.5% as of 18.00

This was reported by the chairman of the Moscow city electoral commission Valentin Gorbunov. He believes that there have been no serious cases of misconduct during the elections. In one of Moscow’s psychiatric clinics, they were unable to organise the elections correctly, so their results will not be counted, Gorbunov says.

This is polling station 3537

Gorbunov also suggested moving a unified voting day from the beginning of September to another date, because many voters are spending their weekends at their dachas. Observers also noted a low turnout not only in Moscow, but also in other regions. Voter turnout is hovering just above 30%.

However, the chairman of the electoral commission guaranteed Echo Moskvy that all ballot boxes will be counted. […]

Comments from Echo Moskvy:

Where’s Putin?
He drowned.
[Note: this is a reference to Vladimir Putin’s response to a question about the Kursk, where he was asked what had happened, and he responded “It sank”, with a wry grin.]

On location, they’re saying that Navalny is third, after Mitrokhin. Hahaah, that’s news for you! I’ll vote for Navalny as the new mayor of a prison in Magadan.

They’re saying that Sobyanin’s fifth, after Melnikov. Hahaha, now THAT’S news!!!)))

The Navalnyites lost? What joy!

Shame on Muscovites.

Navalny’s flopped in Moscow […]

I wonder what turnout would have been if it weren’t for Navalny! About 10%, probably.

There’s a huge traffic jam on the inroads to the city from the provinces.

20 minutes left… will there be a second round??? Or will all go according to schedule…?

8 pm. C’est fini, la comedie. Thanks be to God!
