Just Over 25% Voter Turnout in Moscow Elections

Turn out for Moscow mayoral elections 26.5% as of 18.00

This was reported by the chairman of the Moscow city electoral commission Valentin Gorbunov. He believes that there have been no serious cases of misconduct during the elections. In one of Moscow’s psychiatric clinics, they were unable to organise the elections correctly, so their results will not be counted, Gorbunov says.

Gorbunov also suggested moving a unified voting day from the beginning of September to another date, because many voters are spending their weekends at their dachas. Observers also noted a low turnout not only in Moscow, but also in other regions. Voter turnout is hovering just above 30%.
