Muscovite sues GUM centre for incorrect test results
The 25 year old inhabitant of the capital has sued a clinic over mixed-up test results, which resulted in his wife discovering his betrayal.
The young couple who have just got married have been blown to smithereens after the bride discovered her groom’s treason.
Maxim M’s infidelity was revealed thanks to a mistake in his STD infection test results, which said that he had a whole bouquet of disease.
“According to the results that the doctor told me on the phone, I suddenly was infected with four diseases! Obviously, I was just in shock!”
After the tests were repeated, it turned out that the young man is completely healthy, but his 24 year old darling, Alena Ch. could not forgive his adultery and come back to him.
After the split, the young man filed a suit at the magistrate’s court in the Lefortovskiy region against the private clinic “Optimus-Med” over the incorrect results. Maxim valued the separation from his wife at 200,000 roubles [£4,250, 5,000€], and he asked for another 50,000 [£1,050, 1,250€] to pay his legal fees.
The incredible story began on the 21st July 2012, when Maxim and Alena went to the “Optimus-Med” clinic. The wedding was already planned, the young couple wanted to find out their chances of having children.
However, the doctors’ diagnosis amazed them. According to the medical report, Maxim M. was infected with a number of STDs.
However, Alena’s test results were completely clean, despite the six years the couple had spent together. Unable to stand the accusations, the man admitted that he’d had a one night stand. It turned out that just before the engagement, the young man went to a spa, where the affair took place.
The girl could not find the strength to forgive her husband, collected her things and left.
Maxim decided all the same to go all the way, and asked his 23 year old lover to get a check-up. The man even sent the girl the money to do it. But, after receiving negative test results, he started to suspect a medical error.
“My guess was proved right after I took the same test at a few other clinic”, Maxim told the court. “It turns out that I was not infected at all. In the end, ‘Optimus-Med’ admitted that they’d just mixed up my test results.”
The clinic only offered to refund the cost of the test, 120 roubles [£2.50, 3.00€].
The miserly sum for the destruction of his happy family offended Maxim so much that he immediately took the clinic to court. In the end, his claim was only partly successful, instead of 250,000 [£5295, 6,275€], the court ordered a fine of 34,390 roubles [£725, 865€], only 10,000 [£210, 250€] of which were compensation for his mental trauma.
“I intend to pursue my case”, Maxim told Life News. “Because of this inexperienced laboratory technician’s mistake, I broke up with my beloved girlfriend. How can 10,000 make it up to me? Not to mention that I spent significantly more on legal fees.”

Yeah, this isn’t some lab technician’s mistake, it’s a deliberate trick to earn them money. Even his non-existent sores were treated with antibiotics, and he was given a new liver, new sores would pop up. The clinic needs to be held accountable!

Except, I think that his “happy family” was not destroyed by the clinic, but by him himself, with his affair at the spa. If there had been no affair, there would have been nothing to admit to. So, he needs to get to the heart of the problem, not refer to coincidental facts. The clinic, in my opinion, can only be sued for providing incorrect analysis results. Trying to blame them for the “destruction of his happiness”, I think is absolute nonsense.

Yeah, a lab technician’s mistake … This is what they usually do to trick money out of their clients, it’s not a mistake … Anyway, 120 roubles for a test is a pretty dubious sum … More than likely it’s just a smear under a microscope without even creating a culture. But you can’t detect any “bouquets” like that.

The fact that the man went through the shock and nervous breakdown from this “mistaken” diagnosis doesn’t count? There’s mental trauma from the outset here, I think. There are even STDs that you have to treat your whole life, like HIV. Besides, I wonder whose “bouquet” it was, who wasn’t told anything about it? Is he walking around infecting others?
