Politician Suggests Dirty Trick to Get Rid of Lenin’s Body

From Rambler News:

Remove Lenin under the pretext of restoration

Heated debates about whether to commit the leader of the world’s proletariat’s body to the ground has reaged since the collapse of the Soviet Union. At the round table on the role of the Bolsheviks in Russian and world history, a member of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, Yaroslav Nilov, suggested a way to remove Lenin’s body from the mausoleum without triggering leftist protests. This is according to “Parliamentskaya Gazeta” today.

Nilov believes that restoration needs to take place in Red Square, and at that time, Lenin’s body will need to be taken from the mausoleum. He also suggested not returning the sarcophagus containing the leader’s body, claiming lack of funds.

Speaking about the need to bury Lenin, he asked, “How can a corpse lie in the same place where we hold parades, celebrations?” He was supported by a member of the State Duma Defense Committee, Vladimir Ovsyannikov. “How long can a mummified body, lie in Moscow, the body of a man who destroyed what had lasted for hundreds of years in Russia – statehood, solid foundations and customs?”

We remember that the mausoleum on Red Square is closed until the end of April due to extensive repair work. The tomb is in a bad state: the veneer is peeling, the tiles are moving. The building’s foundation was “floating” because the heterogeneity of the soil had destroyed the waterproofing. Now, builders are strengthening and levelling off the foundation. Previously, representatives of the Federal Protective Service reported that the sarcophagus containing Lenin’s body would not be taken out of the mausoleum.

A simple question: who needed to start a revolution in Russia, if in 1913, Russia was one of the three most dynamic economies? The USA etc were trailing behind.
Did the workers really need a revolution if their monthly salary could happily accommodate a large family, a wife, a housekeeper and a mistress?!

What sort of monthly salary would entertain your fantasies??? The facts!!!

Sergey Efimov:

In April, Lenin’s body will be found in minced beef.

Don’t bury him – let his soul be torn between the heavens and earth! Let him be tormented, he deserves it …

In the USSR, we all loved and respected one another, but in all capitalist countries now, they hate and kill each other.

Let’s put webcams up so you can see the repairs live, so that not just Russia, but the proletariat the world over could watch over the repairs and the safety of the mummy in the mausoleum!

Forever in Russian history, the Soviet era will remain a time of great progress in all fields of human endeavour – art, science, technology, education, defence, economic power, influence on world politics, and those who try to smear the past with their destructive ideas are enemies of Russia.

What kind of government is this, again with knocking something down. When are they going to build something?

Предатели В Кремле: (responding to above)

They’ve all been busy building houses. In the USA, Israel, Canada, and other homelands.

Why are we crossing swords over this now, in ten years, the last veterans will have left this world, and then, quietly and without fuss, the descendants can decide what to do with the mausoleum.
Right now, there are lots of unhelpful emotions on this subject.

I’ve read all of the comments, and this is the best.

Better to destroy the monument to Yeltsin
